There’s a great period coming up over the summer break to fast-track a refit of your catering facilities so they’re ready to attract a new intake, and smart schools and colleges all over the country are doing just that.

There’s still time to plan a refurbishment of your production kitchen or food tech room, buy furniture for your dining room and replace old catering equipment with new, but it’s worth getting organised sooner rather than later and working with a specialist in the field like Space, to help you through the process.

Space has extensive experience in creating stylish yet practical dining areas as well as the production kitchens that serve them, and can design and install state-of-the-art food tech facilities too.

Space can help you bring your dining facilities right up to date by specifying high quality, durable furniture in a vast choice of bright, eye-catching styles with colour options to match any interior scheme. They can also suggest clever furnishing solutions like poseur tables and eating shelves that children love to use and that are sparing on valuable floor space.

Practicality and flexibility is built in from the outset; Space will work with you to plan your dining facilities and maximise the space you have available, suggesting clever furnishing solutions to transform multi-purpose rooms into dining rooms in minutes. Space also provides great service and the benefits of strong buying-power.

Getting a new look back of house is also easy with Space’s dedicated team of kitchen design and installation experts, who can help you make one-off purchases of catering equipment as well as complete kitchen refurbishments. Space has particular expertise in identifying energy saving equipment, to help protect your school or college against rising energy prices.

Boxford, known for generations of Design and Technology teachers for its educational machines, has been awarded the UK’s highest accolade for business success – the Queen’s award for Enterprise.

This makes Boxford one of an elite group of companies to win a Queen’s Award and puts it among the most successful of UK businesses.

The award particularly recognises Boxford’s achievements in international trade. Exports of its educational CADCAM machinery and software have increased by over 600 per cent during the last three years with almost 40 per cent of exports going to new markets.

Paul Barraclough, Boxford’s managing director, told Technology and Science in Education: ”The award reflects the efforts of the entire Boxford team from the sales force to the production work force, from the administration staff to the customer service department. Our recent and significant investments in the state-of-the art manufacturing equipment has also played a major role in the company being able to undertake short-delivery opportunities.”

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise crowns an eventful six month period for Boxford having recently been designated “Manufacturer of the Year” in a regional competition and given the “Made in Britain” accolade by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

These events have coincided with the company’s relocation from its former cotton mill factory in Halifax, that it occupied for 70 years, to its brand new, custom-built factory on its own site in Elland, already receiving praise from many quarters .

The RunRev education microsite provides invaluable material and practical advice on how to use the LiveCode software development to build tailored teaching aids or an entire course.

Kevin Miller, CEO of RunRev says:” The education microsite is first and foremost a FREE resource that we hope will encourage and empower education professionals to embrace software development in their work and utilise its potential to create and develop teaching aids and course material that engages and stimulates students of computer studies.”

Teachers report that LiveCode with the English like structure of its programming enables students spend more time writing apps rather than learning the complexities of the code language. Perhaps this why students think it’s cool.

For more information contact RunRev on 0845 219 8923, email Kevin@runrev.com or visit website www.runrev.com
